What is Worxshop?
Worxshop is the single family office and advisory practice of Gaurav Dhar, an entrepreneur and investor based in the United Arab Emirates. It works with companies entering or growing in the Middle East and Africa, founders raising capital, and the families, institutions and sovereign funds deploying it, across investment, strategic advisory, fundraising, M&A and board roles. Alongside that it offers one to one sessions for founders and students, and publishes founder interviews as the Worxshop Series.
Who is Gaurav Dhar?
Gaurav Dhar is an entrepreneur, investor and advisor who has lived in the United Arab Emirates for 45 years. He spent over two decades building a business that he sold to a sovereign wealth fund, has invested in more than 500 startups, and sits on the boards of banks and fintech companies. He founded Worxshop to support entrepreneurs building companies from scratch.
Is there a fee for a Worxshop session, and who can apply?
There is no fee. They are open to founders and students. Sessions are subject to availability and applying does not guarantee one. If you are selected, the Worxshop team will contact you directly.
What does Worxshop invest in and advise on?
Worxshop works with companies, investors, family offices and institutions on advisory, investment and fundraising strategy, mergers and acquisitions, board and strategic advisory roles, and market entry across the Middle East and Africa. Gaurav Dhar runs a single family office and advisory practice through which he has invested for more than a decade.
Where is Worxshop based?
Worxshop is based in the United Arab Emirates and works across the Middle East and Africa. Gaurav Dhar's family has been in the UAE since 1971, the year the country was founded, and his investments reach across the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Latin America and the United States.

How is Worxshop different from an accelerator or an incubator?
Worxshop is not an accelerator and does not run a programme, take equity for participation, or select a cohort. Founders tell their story publicly through the series, and founders and students can apply for a session, subject to availability.
